Deep into Kansas close to the Oklahoma line lives a lady everyone calls Granny. Granny lives on a 275 acre farm with her husband and all her lovely big and little animals. Granny gets up every morning and fixes breakfast for Papa and then goes out to take care of her animals. Papa helps with the bigger animals, fixes the fences, plants and harvest the crops. Granny did not always live on a farm, infact Granny was born in a small town and then at the age of 12 moved with her family to South Houston, Texas. Granny’s mother made home made items like rooster and hen doorstops, swans made out nylon net, pot holder and kithen towels and many other things. Granny’s mother worked hard all week and sold them at the Houston Farmers market. Bright and early every saturday morning they would load the truck and head to the Houston’s Farmers Market. It was great seeing all the people and the different animals there. Granny’s mother would sell all of the things she made and the people wanted more. After the items were all gone, Granny’s family would go on a shopping spree and get items they were needing.
This is where Granny liked being around animals and garden goods. ” When I grow up I am going to live on a farm,” said Granny to her mother. That’s nice Granny’s mother always answered and I will come live with you she would say.
At the age of seventeen Granny and her mother moved to Oklahoma and that is where Granny met her friend. Granny’s friend is now known as Papa were married and had three lovely children. They are all grown now with children of their own. Now it is just Granny, Papa, the animals and sometimes the grandchilden.
Granny and Papa loves the farm and their animals and this is where all their exciting adventures start.
