Mommy duck decided to take her little ducks for a walk.  I have not taken my little ducks down the lane for a long time thought mommy duck.  I think I will take them today while the weather is still nice.  Mommy duck quacked for all her little ducks.  “Would you like to take a trip down the lane today?” asked mommy duck.  “Oh yes,” quacked all the little ducks.

Mommy duck and all her little ducks were waddling down the lane when the little ducks one by one noticed there was something different about the trees.  “Mommy, Mommy all the trees lost their feathers,” quacked the little ducks.  “Lost their feathers,” said mommy duck.  “Trees do not have feathers but they do have leaves,” answered mommy duck.  “Well, whatever they have they do not have them now,” quacked the little ducks.

Mommy duck and all the little ducks waddled over and sat under a big red oak tree.  Mommy duck told the little ducks how in the spring the trees bud out and the buds turn into leaves.  Then in the fall and the weather starts to get colder the leaves slowly will die and began to fall off the trees.  “Mommy,” asked one of the little ducks, “will our feathers fall off when it gets really cold?”  “No,” replied mommy duck “your feathers will not fall off.”

Mommy duck and all her little ducks went up and down the lane.  Mommy duck and the little ducks were  having a great day.
