farmers-marketGranny and Papa of Granny’s Acres love to put out a vegetable garden every year.    They take a lot of the vegetables to the farmer’s market to sell.  They do not take all of the vegetables to the market, only the extra vegetables they can not eat. The other vegetables will be canned, dried or froze for the winter.

garden2All of Granny and Papa’s vegetables are grown organic because they do not use poisons on the plants or grownd to kill insects.  That means they are healthier to eat and do not pollute the earth. 

Lets take a look at all the vegetables Granny and Papa grow:

red-tomato4 Granny grows red tomatoes.  She puts tomatoes in her salads and slices them on papa’s sandwichs.

 

green-beans1 Granny grows green beans and serves them for lunch or dinner with other foods.

carrots1 Granny grows orange carrots for her stew and her rabbits love to eat them to.

green-peas1 Granny grows green peas that tastes so good in her pea salad recipe.

potatoes Granny grows big potatoes for french fries, mashed potatoes and potato soup.

 radishesGranny grows red radishes that are round with green leafy tops. They go CRUNCH when papa bits into one with his meal.

summer-corn1 Granny grows yellow corn that she roasts on the outdoor grill for the 4th of July party. All the extra corn is frozen for the winter.

bell-peppers1 Granny loves to grow bell pepers.  She loves all the bright colors of  red, yellow or green.

lettuce1Granny grows  green lettuce for salads and  cucumbers1cucumbers to make pickles.

okra1 Granny grows green okra because fried okra tastes so good. Granny loves to pickle okra too.

 black-eye-beans1 Granny grows blackeye peas which taste good with okra on new years day.
